Prior Moves is a research publication operated by Howard Chan. This policy explains what information we handle, how we use it, and how you can request its deletion. It covers both the priormoves.com website and the Prior Moves application that connects to Facebook and Threads for publishing content.

Who we are

Prior Moves (“we”, “us”). Contact: [email protected]. The service is operated from Hong Kong and Japan.

Information we handle

• Website analytics. We collect basic, non-identifying analytics such as page views and country through PostHog, to understand usage and improve the site. We do not build advertising profiles.
• Facebook and Threads integration. The Prior Moves application uses the Meta platform only to publish posts that the account owner (Howard Chan) authors, to the account owner’s own Facebook Page and Threads profile. When connected, it receives an access token and the basic profile identifiers Meta returns for that account. It does not read, collect, or store the personal data of other Facebook or Threads users, and it does not access private messages, friend lists, or contacts.
• Correspondence. If you email us, we keep your message and address to reply.

How we use it

• To operate and improve the website.
• To publish the account owner’s own content to their own connected Meta accounts.
• To respond to enquiries you send us.

What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
• We do not share personal data with third parties except the infrastructure providers that run the service (Cloudflare for hosting, PostHog for analytics, Meta for the publishing integration), each acting on our behalf.
• The website does not require an account or login to read.

Data retention

Access tokens for the Meta integration are held only while the integration is connected and are discarded when it is disconnected or revoked. Analytics are retained in aggregate. Email correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle your request.

Your rights and how to delete your data

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any data we hold about you. To do so, email [email protected] or follow the steps on our data deletion page. You can also disconnect the Prior Moves app at any time from your Facebook or Threads account settings, which revokes its access.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the date above.
